Scarlet Nova

Scarlet Nova was a short lived side-project from early 2005.
We played at the now long-gone Bourbon Street Music Hall in Ottawa for two or three shows.
The group formed just for fun out a few basement jam sessions and was not intended to be a serious project.
We played a few covers with a punk/metal twist and a couple of original songs. There are no recordings from these couple of shows and practices and it was eventually disbanded. There are a few pictures of one of the shows, and this is one of the surviving shots.
The core line-up was myself on guitar and Melanie Desparois on vocals. The sound was a mix between punk and Evanescence.
Other associated musicians sometimes took the stage with us, and for this particular show in the photo we had Kereen Wardle playing bass guitar.
Fun trivia fact: the photographer went on to marry our singer a few years later.
